Handforth, he reinterprets the architecture of the Genoese neoclassical building through a choreography of forms capable of questioning the symbolic universe and the perceptive coordinates of the viewer. In the rooms he transforms into a character who, as in Alice in Wonderland, becomes giant or tiny, finding himself a prisoner in the rays of a neon sunset or surmounted by shooting stars. The enlargement of the proportions and the accentuated distortion of everyday objects radically transform the relationship between the viewer and the work.
Through a surreal succession of twisted street lamps, fluorescent mandalas, huge deformed "hangers" and imposing dented stars, Mark Handforth communicates an impetuous vital charge made by the encounter between organic and geometric forms, between natural and artificial.
